Ibrahim Shehu Holds Strategic Meeting with Maru Stakeholders Ahead of 2027

Zamfara state PDP governorship candidate, His Excellency, Engr. Ibrahim Shehu Gusau, PhD, popularly known as (Bakauye) on Monday held a strategic meeting with key political stakeholders from Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State in Abuja.

The meeting, which was described as fruitful, focused on critical issues affecting Zamfara State and the political direction ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Speaking during the engagement, the Maru stakeholders expressed delight over Dr. Shehu Gusau’s decision to contest for the governorship of Zamfara State. They said his entry into the race has renewed hope for many citizens who are yearning for competent and people-oriented leadership.

The stakeholders praised Dr. Shehu Gusau for his academic background and professional record, noting that Zamfara is in dire need of a leader who understands the importance of education and has the capacity to deploy knowledge for development.

They described him as a product of credible institutions whose qualifications are verifiable and respected, adding that his education was not obtained from “roadside schools” but from reputable schools both in Nigeria and abroad.

“Zamfara will finally have a leader who is genuinely educated, who understands what education can do, and who will invest in it,” one of the stakeholders said. “We are tired of leaders with questionable certificates who have nothing to offer but empty promises.”

The Maru delegation also pledged their total support for Dr. Shehu Gusau’s gubernatorial ambition, saying he represents the true rescue Zamfara needs.

According to them, past and present attempts at “rescue” in the state have only benefited a few individuals rather than the general population.

“Engr. Ibrahim Shehu Gusau is the real rescue Zamfara has been waiting for,” they stated. “Unlike those who shout rescue but are only busy rescuing themselves, their families and cronies, Dr. Shehu Gusau’s track record shows he is committed to rescuing the entire people of Zamfara.”

They added that the state needs a leader with vision, integrity, and the technical know-how to address insecurity, poverty, poor education, and decaying infrastructure.

The stakeholders used the opportunity to discuss key challenges facing Maru LGA and Zamfara State at large, including insecurity, unemployment among youths, and the collapse of basic services.

They expressed confidence that with Dr. Shehu Gusau at the helm, the state would witness a new era of development driven by expertise, planning, and accountability.

Dr. Ibrahim Shehu Gusau thanked the delegation for their support and assured them that if elected, his administration would prioritize education, security, agriculture, and job creation. He also promised to run an inclusive government that carries all parts of the state along.

The meeting ended with prayers for peace in Zamfara and for a successful political outing in the next election cycle.
