BREAKING: Hundreds Of Youths Ground Gusau Over 'Tinubu Must Go' Protest

There was heavy tension and traffic gridlock in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, on Monday as hundreds of agitated youths trooped out to the popular Freedom Square to stage a protest.

The protesters, made up of young men and women, converged as early as morning at the Freedom Square junction, which is a major intersection that links several key routes within the Gusau metropolis, thereby causing serious hold-up for motorists and commuters.
Eyewitnesses said some of the protesters were dressed in white T-shirts boldly inscribed with "TINUBU MUST GO" while chanting solidarity songs and displaying placards. The atmosphere became charged as their chants rented the air, attracting the attention of passersby and road users.

Commercial activities around the area were partially disrupted as tricycles popularly known as Keke Napep, motorcycles and cars struggled to navigate through the large crowd that had taken over the road.

Many of the women who took part in the demonstration were seen in colourful hijabs lining the roadside, while the male protesters moved in groups, some riding on motorcycles and shouting slogans.

A branded vehicle fitted with a public address system was stationed at the centre of the gathering, with a cameraman standing on its roof capturing the proceedings, indicating that the protest was well-organised.

As of the time of filing this report, the organisers have not officially stated the specific reason behind the protest, and security operatives were yet to react or issue any statement regarding the development.

It would be recalled that Freedom Square has remained the epicentre of political activities and public demonstrations in Gusau since it was renamed by the present administration, hosting several pro and anti-government rallies.
