ZAMFARA 2027: Time To Replace Inexperience With Experience

Zamfarawa, let us ask ourselves one honest question - at what point will this so-called rescue mission begin to directly benefit ordinary Zamfara indigenous citizens?

For over three years, we have been hearing about rescue mission, but who has it rescued? The common man in Gusau, Kaura Namoda, Anka, Talata Mafara, Maradun, Bukkuyum, Maru, Bungudu, Birnin Magaji, Gumi, Bakura, Tsafe, Shinkafi and Zurmi is yet to feel any impact.

Instead, what we have seen is a rescue mission that benefits non-indigenes more than the sons and daughters of Zamfara. Go and check. The biggest contracts - multi-billion naira contracts - have been given to non-indigenes. Check all the sensitive government positions related to financial activities - they are all occupied by non-indigenes. Is that the rescue we were promised? Is that why Zamfara people voted?

This is what happens when you hand over a complex state like Zamfara to inexperienced politicians who have zero knowledge of governance, zero understanding of the political terrain of Zamfara, and zero experience in delivering dividends of democracy.

An inexperienced government cannot even satisfy its own party followers, let alone the general public. Today, many APC members who worked day and night for this government are crying. No empowerment, no appointments, no dividends. If you cannot take care of your own house, how can you take care of the entire state?

PDP IS STILL THE MOST ORGANIZED PARTY IN ZAMFARA

Politics is about structure and leadership. Look at APC in Zamfara - it is a party in shambles. Faction of Matawalle, faction of Yari, faction of serving Senator, faction of House of Reps members - I can name but a few. A party that cannot even organize itself cannot organize a state.

But PDP is God's given party especially in Zamfara state. Today, PDP has no factions in Zamfara. We have only ONE leader - Engineer Ibrahim Shehu Bakauye. A man who is overseeing all the affairs of the party without faction, without fighting, without noise. That is what leadership and experience look like.

Engineer Bakauye is not a learner. He is an experienced politician who understands Zamfara's problems from the grassroots. He knows that governance is not about giving contracts to outsiders while your people starve. Governance is about expanding dividends of democracy to every nook and cranny of the state - to the villages, to the farmers, to the youth, to the women, to the party loyalists.

WHY WE NEED EXPERIENCED POLITICIANS IN 2027

1.  Experience Understands Indigenous Interest First: An experienced politician knows that charity begins at home. Zamfara money must first benefit Zamfara people.

2.  Experience Knows How to Manage Party: An experienced leader will not abandon his party faithful after winning election. He knows that party is supreme.

3.  Experience Brings Stability: Zamfara has suffered enough instability from political learners. We need a steady hand that can unite the party and unite the state.

4.  Experience Delivers Real Projects, Not Audio Projects: We are tired of social media governance. Experienced politicians deliver physical projects in rural urban that the common man can touch.

5.  Experience Respects Traditional Institutions and Elders: Inexperience insults elders. Experience consults them.

Zamfarawa, 2027 is coming. We cannot afford another four years of experiment. We have experimented with inexperience and we have seen the result - Insecurity, hardship, disunity, and empowerment of outsiders over our own people.

It is time to return to experience. It is time to return to a leader who knows the road.

Engineer Ibrahim Shehu Bakauye is that experience. PDP is that platform.
