I Told el-Rufai To Go On Exile Or They Will Jail Him — Buba Galadima

A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, and now a leader of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Buba Galadima, has said President Bola Tinubu and his camp are ungrateful to former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai.

Galadima said despite all the contributions El-Rufai made to ensure Tinubu won the 2023 presidential election, Tinubu and his people have paid him back with ingratitude.

He stated this during an interview on the Naija Unfiltered Podcast.

"Tinubu and his people are ingrates as far as El-Rufai is concerned. I'm not the best friend of El-Rufai. In fact, I advised him that he should be careful of the way he carries himself, that he either goes on exile or they will jail him," Galadima said.

The elder statesman said he had raised alarm over El-Rufai's ordeal in several interviews he granted to the BBC and other Nigerian television stations.

He revealed that he even went to meet the former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to beg him to stop El-Rufai from returning to Nigeria when he was in Egypt.

"I went and met Kwankwaso and told Kwankwaso that he should beg El-Rufai not to come back. These people do not mean well to him," he revealed.

Galadima said Kwankwaso called El-Rufai and El-Rufai shifted his return date, but later fixed another date and came back to Nigeria.

He described El-Rufai's decision to return to the country as an act of bravery, knowing how desperate the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, is to hold on to power.

According to Galadima, the APC is ready to do anything to remain in power because the party knows what awaits them if they lose.

"The desperation with which the APC is going, they can do anything under the sun to come back to power, because they know what it entails if they lose power; what they have done to people will visit them," he said.

He added that El-Rufai is now paying for what he did to other people while in power.
