“Support Tinubu or We Have No Dealings With You” — Maipalace Tells Constituents

A video of Hon. Kabiru Amadu, popularly known as Mai Palace, the member representing Gusau and Tsafe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has sparked reactions after he told his supporters that anyone who will not back President Bola Tinubu and Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal should not expect any political relationship with him.

The video, which has been circulating on social media and was obtained by The Spectacles, shows the lawmaker addressing his supporters and insisting that loyalty to him must also mean loyalty to both Tinubu and Governor Dauda.

According to him, failure to support the two leaders is considered a major offense by his political camp.

“I am making it clear to all my supporters,” he said in the video. “If you know you will not support Tinubu and Dauda, then there is no need for us to have any political dealings with you. Everyone who claims to support me must support APC from top to bottom.”

He warned them against voting for any other party, saying no one should “dare” to cast their vote outside the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The lawmaker’s statement is coming at a time when many Nigerians, including residents of Zamfara, have expressed frustration with the APC over issues of insecurity, poverty, and economic hardship.

Political observers say the directive could put the lawmaker’s seat at risk ahead of the 2027 general elections, as voters may decide to reject candidates they see as prioritizing party loyalty over the welfare of the people.

“At a time when citizens are looking for solutions to banditry and hardship, telling people they must support a party whether they like it or not sends the wrong message,” a political analyst in Gusau who asked not to be named said.

Critics who reacted to the video argued that the lawmaker’s comments show he is representing the APC more than he is representing his constituents.

“If he truly represented the people, his priority would be the hardship, insecurity, and poverty they face, not forcing them to support a party,” one commentator noted.

The statement has also drawn attention because while some concerned citizens in Zamfara are leaving the APC, citing the party’s failure to provide adequate security, the lawmaker is urging people to remain in the party “whether they like it or not.”

“This shows that his concern is not the condition of the people, but his seat and his party,” another resident said.

Zamfara State has in recent years been one of the states worst hit by banditry. Many communities in Gusau, Tsafe, Bukkuyum and other LGAs continue to deal with attacks, kidnappings, and displacement.

Because of this, there has been growing dissatisfaction with the ruling party among voters. Many citizens say they will use the 2027 elections to decide whether to continue with the APC or seek alternatives.

In that context, Rep. Amadu’s call for blind loyalty to APC, Tinubu and Governor Dauda is seen by many as politically risky.

The lawmaker represents one of the most populated federal constituencies in Zamfara. Gusau and Tsafe have large voting blocs that could swing elections at both state and federal levels.

With the 2027 elections still some time away, residents say they are watching closely to see which politicians prioritize their needs over party directives.

“For now, the judgment lies with the people of this area,” the video commentary concluded. “They will decide in 2027 whether to continue with those who demand loyalty to party, or to choose leaders who put the people first.”
