Speaking to our correspondent, Engr. Bakauye attributed the gains made so far to the bravery, commitment, and sacrifices of security personnel who have continued to confront armed bandits in various parts of the state. He noted that their dedication to duty, often under difficult and dangerous conditions, has been central to the progress being witnessed in the security operations. He further stated that the prayers of the people of Zamfara have also played a major role in strengthening the morale of the security forces and contributing to the breakthroughs being recorded.
The PDP governorship candidate made specific reference to two recent operations that have drawn widespread attention across the state. He expressed great joy and satisfaction over the successful operation in Anka Local Government Area that led to the killing of a notorious bandit leader identified as Kachalla Yellow. He also commended the security forces for the operation in Gummi Local Government Area, where several bandits were neutralized during a coordinated offensive. According to him, these developments have brought renewed hope to residents who have lived under the threat of bandit attacks for years.
While praising the security agencies, Engr. Bakauye urged them not to relent in their efforts. He called on the personnel to intensify their operations, remain steadfast in the face of challenges, and continue to make sacrifices in the service of the state and the nation. He reminded them that their efforts are not in vain, stressing that their ultimate reward is with Allah for protecting lives and property.
The governorship candidate also appealed to religious leaders and the general public across Zamfara State to sustain prayers for lasting peace. He emphasized that spiritual support from the people remains a critical factor in the fight against insecurity, and that continuous prayers would further boost the success of security operations on the ground.
In addition, Engr. Bakauye called on the security agencies to extend their operations to other local government areas where the security situation remains critical. He explained that expanding the reach of the ongoing offensives would help secure more communities, particularly farming areas, and allow residents to return to their farmlands without fear of attacks. He noted that many farmers have been unable to cultivate their lands due to the activities of armed groups, a situation that has worsened food insecurity and economic hardship in the state.
Finally, the PDP governorship candidate sympathized with the people of Zamfara State over the current hardship being experienced under the present administration. He acknowledged the difficulties many families are facing and expressed solidarity with citizens who have endured the impact of insecurity alongside economic challenges.
