Abuja, Sept. 26, 2026 Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Barau I. Jibrin, has warned aides against disloyalty, saying some were allegedly induced with money to work against him.
This is contained in a statement by Hon. Shitu Madaki Kunchi, Special Assistant Media and Publicity to the Deputy President of the Senate, made available to newsmen in Abuja.
Kunchi, speaking on behalf of Jibrin, said some APC members in Kano State had been ungrateful for opportunities provided to them by the Deputy Senate President.
He said this particularly concerned some persons earlier given appointments in the DSP’s office to enable them to improve their lives and support their families.
“We have information that some of them were given huge sums of money to give up the positions entrusted to them by the DSP, in order to cause harm to him and the APC in Kano State and Kano North,” the statement said.
Kunchi said the development did not disturb the DSP, adding that many people in Kano State were seeking similar opportunities.
He said any aide who chose to relinquish his or her position would be replaced by others who genuinely demonstrate their support and loyalty.
He added that the development would not deter the DSP’s resolve, but would instead strengthen his commitment to supporting the people and promoting development in Kano State, Kano North and Nigeria.
Kunchi also thanked those who continued to pray for the wellbeing and success of the Deputy Senate President.
