In his Independence Day goodwill message issued on Thursday, October 1st, 2027, Bakauye congratulated Nigerians for witnessing another historic milestone and thanked Almighty Allah for His countless blessings, unity and peace bestowed upon the people of Zamfara and the country at large.
He said, "Today, we are celebrating 30 years of the creation of Zamfara State at a time when Nigeria is celebrating 66 years of independence. I heartily congratulate the good people of Zamfara and Nigerians on this double celebration and thank Allah for His mercies, unity and peaceful coexistence which He has blessed us with."
The PDP chieftain noted that the 30th anniversary of Zamfara State is a moment for deep reflection, gratitude and renewed hope. He recalled that Zamfara was created on October 1, 1996 by the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, from the old Sokoto State, with the dream of bringing development closer to the people, fostering unity and accelerating socio-economic progress.
According to him, despite the numerous challenges that have confronted the state in recent years, particularly the disturbing security situation, the people of Zamfara have remained resilient, hardworking and committed to peace and development.
He acknowledged that some parts of the state and the North-West region are still grappling with serious security challenges, including banditry, kidnapping and other acts of terrorism which have affected farming, businesses, education and social life.
Shehu Bakauye, however, expressed optimism that with sincere leadership, collective prayers and unity of purpose, Zamfara will overcome its challenges and reclaim its place as a peaceful and prosperous state.
The governorship hopeful offered special prayers for the state and the nation. He prayed for Almighty Allah to continue to grant Zamfara State enduring peace, sustainable development, prosperity and unity among its diverse people.
He also prayed that Allah would imbue leaders and followers alike with honesty, trustworthiness, fear of God and genuine love for the development of the state and its people.
"May Allah grant Zamfara more peace, progress, abundance and unity. May He make our leaders and our people honest, trustworthy and patriotic in advancing the development of our dear state and its people," he prayed.
Furthermore, Engineer Shehu Bakauye used the occasion to call on the people of Zamfara to remain politically conscious and prepared for the enormous task ahead, particularly the 2027 general elections.
He urged the electorate to remain steadfast and prepare to elect credible, competent and God-fearing candidates who have the capacity and the will to rescue the state from its current difficulties and place it on the path of sustainable growth.
He stressed that the forthcoming 2027 election provides another golden opportunity for the people of Zamfara to make the right choice and vote for leaders who will prioritize security, education, healthcare, agriculture and youth empowerment.
He concluded by praying for Allah's continued blessings upon Zamfara State, protection for its citizens, and a brighter future for the state and Nigeria at large.
