The All Progressives Congress has set up its presidential campaign council ahead of the 2027 elections.
President Bola Tinubu will chair the council, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda serving as vice chairmen.
Former Zamfara Governor, Senator Abdul'aziz Abubakar Yari, has been appointed Director-General of the campaign.
APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, and former NPA boss, Hadiza Bala-Usman, will serve as Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively.
According to a statement released on Saturday morning by Presidential Spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu will be supported by an advisory body that includes Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, and Yobe Governor Mai Mala Buni were named Deputy Director-Generals for the South and North. They will work with Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Deputy Senate President Jibril Barau.

- Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President: Deputy DG, Administration
- James Faleke: Deputy DG, Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring
Zonal Directors under Faleke are Senator Olushola Adeyeye for South West, Dr Ngozi Olejeme for South South, Senator Uche Ekwunife for South East, Muntaqha Rabe for North West, Ahmed Muhammed Ketso for North Central, and Senator Sani Danladi for North East.
Stella Okotete, Abdullahi Garba Ramat, and Audu Maikori were named Secretaries of the Election Planning Directorate. Muiz Banire is Legal Director. Attorney-General Lateef Fagbemi and Kingsley Udeh are also members.
MEDIA TEAM
Information Minister Mohammed Idris will coordinate media and strategic communication. He will work with Solid Minerals Minister Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga, and APC National Publicity Secretary Lanre Issa-Onilu.
Coordinating Deputy Directors for media include Tunde Rahman, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala, and Felix Morka. Coordinating Secretaries are Temitope Ajayi, Arabinrin Aderonke, and Fredrick Nwabufo.
Five spokespersons were also named: Dele Alake, Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu, and Adamu Fanda.
President Tinubu urged all members to work hard to secure victory for the APC in the January 2027 elections. He also asked directorate heads to involve other party members not formally listed.
The President said the government has delivered on its promises and put the economy on a path of progress. He added that the party has achievements to showcase as it campaigns.
The Independent National Electoral Commission opened campaigns for presidential and national assembly elections on Wednesday. Campaigns will run until January 14, 2027.
Other major contenders for the 2027 presidential election include former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of ADC and Peter Obi of NDC.
