Eid-el-Maulud: PDP Gov'ship Candidate Urges Zamfara Residents To Pray For Peace, Security And Good Governance

The Peoples Democratic Party Governorship Candidate in Zamfara State, Rt. Hon. Engr. Ibrahim Shehu Bakauye Gusau, FNSE, has called on Muslims in the state to use the Eid-el-Maulud celebration to intensify prayers for security, peace, unity and good governance.

In his Eid-el-Maulud message to the Muslim Ummah, Bakauye congratulated faithful in Zamfara and across the world on the commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), describing it as a day to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings of tolerance, compassion, humility and empathy.

He said: "Indeed, this is a very significant day in the Islamic calendar, as it gives every Muslim the opportunity to reflect on the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet which are anchored on tolerance, compassion, humanity, humility, and empathy - timeless and enduring principles."

The PDP candidate urged Muslims to imbibe those virtues in their daily lives, and to remember Zamfara in prayers at a time the state is battling insecurity, hunger, poverty and economic hardship.

"While reflecting on the imperatives of this day, we should continually seek Allah's protection and guidance over the people of Zamfara State at this critical time of insecurity, hunger, poverty, hardship, economic difficulties, and pauperization," he said.

"Yes, the vast majority of our people are going through challenging times, but we are confident that soon, Allah will accept all our supplications, Amin!"

Bakauye, an engineer and former House member, representing Gusau and Tsafe federal constituency, noted that lasting peace and development in the state can only be achieved when leaders and citizens embrace the values taught by the Holy Prophet.

He concluded with: "Happy Eid-el-Maulud Nabiyi!"

Eid-el-Maulud, which marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), is being celebrated by Muslims worldwide today with prayers, charity, and teachings on the Prophet’s life.
