The Zamfara State APC flag-off campaign rally held today took an unexpected turn after a crowd that gathered for the event responded with "Sai Atiku" instead of "Sai Tinubu" when organizers shouted "Nigeria".
The rally was organized by the Director-General of the President Tinubu Campaign Council, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, and was meant to mobilize 2 million support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term bid.
However, instead of the expected chants of support for the President, many in the crowd shouted the name of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. The moment quickly went viral and was interpreted by observers as a sign of rejection.
Political analysts say the incident reflects growing dissatisfaction with the current administration in Zamfara, a state that has been a strong APC base in previous elections.
The development has sparked conversations across the state about the mood of the electorate ahead of 2027.
