Her name is Mrs. Ramatu O. Ibrahim.
The appointment was announced on Tuesday by the Registrar, Mr. Oladipo Ajayi. It takes effect immediately.
Ibrahim was previously Deputy Bursar in charge of Treasury. She steps in after the death of Mallam Nasiru Gusau Marafa.
Marafa was shot dead on Sunday, September 6, while returning from Gusau, Zamfara State.
NOUN described his death as “sudden and untimely” and called it a “profound loss” to the university. The school said he was a “dedicated administrator and valued member of the NOUN family.”
The university did not give more details about the shooting or say who was responsible.
In the announcement, the Registrar said Ibrahim’s appointment was to ensure “continuity, stability and effective leadership” in the university’s finances.
The appointment was approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Uduma Oji Uduma, with the backing of the Pro-Chancellor, Malam Isa Yuguda, CON.
Ibrahim has worked across several units in the Bursary Department. The university said she has strong experience in accounting, treasury operations and financial management.
Management expressed confidence that she will run the office with “professionalism, diligence and integrity.”
The VC congratulated her and urged staff to support her in the new role.
