Federal Govt To Establish Teaching Hospital In Tsafe – Senator Bilbis

In a major boost to healthcare development in Zamfara State, a team will on Friday, 13th November 2026, undertake an inspection visit to Tsafe Local Government Area to assess and identify a suitable site for the proposed Federal University Teaching Hospital, Tsafe (FUTH Tsafe).

The Senator representing Zamfara Central Senatorial District, Senator Ikra Aliyu Bilbis, who disclosed this in a statement, said the inspection marks a critical step towards the actualisation of the proposed Teaching Hospital.

According to him, the establishment of FUTH Tsafe is expected to revolutionise healthcare delivery in the state, promote medical education and research, and significantly improve access to quality specialist medical services for the people of Zamfara and neighbouring states.

He explained that beyond healthcare, the teaching hospital will be a catalyst for socio-economic growth, as it will create thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities for youths, promote professional training for medical personnel, and stimulate business activities in Tsafe and the entire Zamfara Central.

Senator Bilbis noted that as the lawmaker representing Zamfara Central, he remains fully committed to supporting the vision and will work with all relevant stakeholders at the federal and state levels to ensure its successful realisation for the benefit of the people.

"The establishment of FUTH Tsafe will not only improve our health sector but will also open a new chapter of development, not only in Tsafe but across Zamfara State and beyond," the Senator stated.

He expressed optimism for a successful completion of the assessment exercise and called on the good people of Tsafe and Zamfara Central to support the project, as subsequent steps will be taken to make the important healthcare institution a reality.
